Thirteen Reasons Why

The book I read was Th1rten R3asons Why by Jay Asher. He is a fantastic author who has also written the book The Future of Us. In Th1rteen R3asons Why there is a girl named Hannah Baker, who committed suicide because of the actions from mainly 13 of her peers. But, right before she died, Hannah decided she wanted to get her story out into the world, the true story. The real message you get when you read this story is don’t judge a book by its cover, because it seems everyone seems to know Hannah just by rumors they have heard and what she looks, but herself.

Of course the main character in this story is Hannah Baker, but she is not the only telling a story. This book starts as a boy named Clay Jensen who was in the same grade and happened to work with Hannah during the summer she came to his town. He has received a box of seven tapes and a map from Hannah. There are seven tapes, all double sided except for the seventh tape. In the first tape Hannah explains the only two rules, the first you have to listen to all of the tapes to find where your story fits in and the second you have to pass the tapes on to the name that follows yours. Through listening to all the tapes, Clay not only learns his story and what Hannah thought of him, but everybody else as well.

Th1rteen R3asons Why was an amazing book and I would definitely recommend others to read it! It is an easy read and on that will definitely keep you on your toes, always wanting to know more. If you ever have the chance to pick up this book, take it. I was not able to put this book down for five minutes and I bet you won't be able to either. Have fun reading!
