Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck

The book Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney is very good. Being the 8th book in the series, Hard Luck is the newest Diary of a Wimp Kid at this moment. The whole series is very entertaining and doesn’t get boring. Hard Luck is a realistic fiction book that is set up like a diary about a kid named Greg Heffley. This book, Hard Luck, is about a section of Greg’s life, Hard Luck isn’t the best Diary of a Wimpy Kid but it is surely a good read.. Greg’s best friend, Rowley, has ditched him, finding new friends for Greg proves to be a difficult task. This book is based in the present and it does not say where Greg lives. The main character is a boy named Greg Heffley and the other main character, his best friend, is named Rowley Jefferson. The book is written in a diary format in a first person point of view that is very entertaining. The theme for the part of the book could be that you have to move on because Greg’s best friend, Rowley, ditches him and Greg is forced to find new friends.

The book, Hard Luck, is about a young kid in middle school named Greg that has to find new friends because his best friend, Rowley, ditched him. The main two characters would be Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson. Greg has two parents named Susan and Frank.  Greg does have two brothers and their names are Manny and Rodrick. Greg Heffley is going through middle school and has to go through new experiences. A person that Greg doesn’t like at all is Fregley because Fregley is strange, Fregley will pick a scab and then he will disgustingly eat it. Greg has gotten to the point that he won’t even accept any of Rowley’s opinions anymore. Rowley thinks that Greg is just mad because Rowley has a girlfriend; that is why the two are so mad at each other. Later in the book, Greg has a magic 8-ball and he starts talking and asking it all sorts of questions.

A part that I found intriguing was when Greg found out he was flunking classes so he decided that he would be a better student from now on, I like this because it shows that you should always try your best; a few lines from the book are “I decided that, starting today, I was going to be MRS. Norton’s best student (Kinney 191).

I would personally recommend this book to people because it is very entertaining and it is a very easy read. I would recommend this book to a younger audience because like I said, it is an easy read. It is an easy read because of how it is written, it is written for a younger audience but older people can read it for entertainment. For me, this book was a page turner, it had me reading until I finished the book. This book was a page turner because it is a simple read and is very amusing. This book Is definitely a book to pick up if you want a fast, easy, and fun read. It is written like a diary which means it will be an interesting read and it will be a fun read because there are small drawings along with the story to help explain what is going on.
