Jamal Hickens who is a young black boy is going through a lot of things right now his older brother is in jail, he is getting bullied at school by Dwayne,and the teachers at school are also harassing Jamal. Jamal was hoping to have his older brother released but his Mom does not have the money to pay for an appeal which was 2,000 dollars! This amount of money was way too much money for Jamals Mother. Jamal was in need of money quick! Jamal wanted to help pay for the appeal so he decided to join a gang which he would then sell crack. Jamals older brother Randy wanted Jamal to visit a old friend of Randy who was Mack. When the two met up Mack wanted Jamal to be the leader of the Scorpions which is the gang Jamal and Mack are in. Jamal was givin the gun so he could replace Randys position as the leader of the Scorpions.Jamal got into a scuffle with Dwayne his bully and Jamal had pulled out the GUN! Jamal and his Puerto Rican friend Tito also got into another inconvience with the gun which got Tito sent to Puerto Rico to live with his Father.
This overwhelming,entertaining,and amusing book is relatable to many people. Once you began to read a chapter this book will become irrestible.After reading the summary on the back of the book you will be anxious and you begin to yearn. All the choices Jamal and Tito made can be a life lesson towards anyone. It is unbelievable on how much two youngins from Harlem can cause so much trouble. This book is filled with supense and chaos its such a great book if you enjoy mysteries and adventourous story.
