The book that I have finished reading is the Merchant of Death by D.J. MacHale. It is the first book in the Pendragon series and does a
great job of introducing characters like Uncle Press a wise mentor for Bobby
and Saint Dane the sadistic main antagonist of the book. Some of the other
books he has written are Sylo, Storm, The Blood, The Black, and more. The book
is mainly about Bobby and how he is trying to save his uncle and Denduron and
all the territories like Earth, Cloral, and first Earth. The theme is
determination because there are many times Bobby wants to give up but was
determined to save his uncle and the people of Denduron.
This book is about Bobby Pendragon who has perfect life
because he gets girls, is athletic, smart, and has a rich and cool family. One
night when he is getting ready for his basketball game his uncle takes him to
an abandoned subway station where they go through a portal and enter the
territory of Denduron. Their main goal is to stop Saint Dane from starting a
war between the Milago and Kagans knights. Over the course of the book they
meet interesting warriors like Osa and Loor who are strong warriors and natives
of Denduron. There are many twists and turns that kept me interested the whole
time I spent reading this book.
I would recommend that more people read this book and the
rest of this series because if the other books are as good as this one then I
plan to read them all. The reason I liked this book so much is because it has a
great plot, interesting setting, and very well developed characters that change
throughout the like how Bobby was a coward but developed courage by the end.
These are the reasons why I like the book and I think everyone should give this
book a shot.
