Eleanor & Park

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell is a New York Times Bestseller novel. Rowell has also written other books such as Fangirl. What is especially incredible about Eleanor & Park is Rowell’s ability to take both views from the guy and the girl in the relationship, it’s truly astounding. This book is full of adventure, heartbreak, and surprise.

Eleanor & Park are two individuals that would seem to not associate, and that is mostly true until one day Park starts talking to Eleanor. Park is an Asian boy, loved, liked, and very fortunate. Eleanor is odd, quiet, and bullied by a lot of people at her school. Once their relationship starts, it starts fast. Eleanor isn’t use to too much of a good thing, with her moms new  abusive husband and 4 siblings crowded into one tiny house, so she spends as much time as she can with Park. Just as everything seems to be going their way, the story takes a dramatic turn- a climax both heartbreaking and phenomenal.

Rainbow Rowell’s writing talent is flaunted in this wonderful book. I highly recommend this book for anybody who likes adventure, romance, and the harsh touch of reality. Eleanor & Park is a ‘must read’ of the year, and is an unforgettable story that will leave readers touched.
