Illuminae

The book I read was called Illuminae by: Amie Kuffman and Jayce Kristoff. The book illuminae is about two teenagers named Kady Grant and Ezra Mason. The both lived on a mining colony called Kerenza where they went to high school and dated each other. One day however the colony was attacked by a ship called the Lincoln. The Lincoln was a dreadnaught class ship. The two teenagers escaped Kerenza on two separate ships called the Hypatia and the Alexander. Another ship that was with them was called the Copernicus.

I really enjoyed this story because it was fast paced and kind of got to the point faster than a lot of books I read. I enjoy books about science fiction and space, so this book was very cool to me. I enjoy reading books that are interesting and don't dwell on stupid dialogue and information we already know. This book is really good for people who like science fiction and hate reading books with nothing interesting in them. I think this book’s plot was a very unique plot that not a lot of books follow so I found this story interesting.

Things that I didn't like about the book were that you weren't given much background to many of the characters that were in the book. Another thing would be the pacing. The pacing seems awkward and the book switches from something interesting to something like text messages randomly.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stuff like Star Wars and science fiction. I found this book to be confusing but later on in the book the story starts to piece together and make sense to the reader.
