Dear Charlie by N. D. Gomes review
The story takes place in Britain in the year 1995. A sixteen
years old named Sam has a brother named Charlie. One day Charlie went to school
and Charlie shoots his classmates and the shot himself. Sam’s whole family and
the town he lives in are shocked by the tragedy. The town treated Sam’s family
like outcast. The town's school requested Sam not come back.So his therapist
recommends him going to a new school to get a fresh start. At the new school
Sam quickly makes friends with a circle of people. But the Sam still gets hate
and abuse letters in the mail from the other community and it's getting worst
at his home. His mom is still in a state of denial and his dad is always
depress and stays in his garage all day. Within his group of friends the has a
romantic relationship with a girl called Lzzy. I would recommend this book
because it has good plot and it has good characters development, overall I
enjoyed the book.
