My beating teenage heart is a story written by C.K. Kelly
Martin. Which she has also written other books like I know it's over and onelonely degree. The theme is how you have to let go and accept reality. Ashlyn
Baptiste has to deal with not being able to remember and she has to find a way
to communicate with Breckon.
Ashlyn Baptiste can't remember who she is, no memories at
all. Then all of the sudden she is seeing stars. Could she be dead, or in coma?
She can talk and see but has no body it's as if she is trapped in her own mind.
She doesn't know why, but she is put up to a task to watch a stranger's life.
Breckon Cody is hurt, not physically, nor mentally, but emotionally. It doesn't
matter how much he tries to keep it together, it just doesn't seem to work,
he's in so much pain. As Ashlyn watches Breckon, she starts to get glimpses of
her life.
When you lose someone it's when you realize that in matter
of seconds you could be gone. “I reach towards the light and tug back the
curtains, still singing to myself, still Ashlyn Baptiste. And this time I do
not have to fall. I soar” (272). I liked this book because it keeps you
interested and on the edge, you never know what's going to happen next, and
just when you think you've got it, it changes then you got to start all over
again. If you like mysteries or even sci-fi, this book is definitely for you. I
highly recommend you read this book but, warning prepare to be amazed.
