Black Ice

The book I have read is called “Black Ice” by Becca Fitzpatrick, it is an horror, survival like themed and it's actually pretty good. It's basically about two girls, Britt and Korbie, going on a backpacking trip up in the woods with Korbie’s brother, Calvin. But as Britt and Korbie drove up to the cabin, there was a really bad snowstorm and it buried their car. With little supplies, they had to grab some of their stuff from the car and find shelter. Few hours later they found a different cabin which it was occupied by two guys, Mason and Shawn. Things seemed okay for a while, until Shawn pulls out an gun and started threatening the girls.

This whole story is basically about Britt being held hostage and leads Mason and Shawn off of the forests, but also trying to keep the trouble of slowly falling in love with Mason down and away. And trying to get Calvin out of her head, though they did broke up months ago. 

The bond slowly built up with Mason as time passed on, trying to get these men out of the forest. But she would never expect to find anything dark and gruesome out the cold woods, nor an terrifying dark secret.

I actually like the entire concept around this book, there was some characters that made me a bit annoyed (ex; Korbie to be honest.) but overall, it is a good book. Especially for people who loves horror but maybe some romantic and drama as well.

Britt may make dumb choices and things in the book, but she's correct anyway at the end. The romantic part seems a bit dumb and unneeded sometimes but, I guess it's decent. Overall the book is really well written, the characters are interesting and the whole survival theme is really nice. (Probably because I love these kinds of things, I'm a sucker for horror stuff!)

There is an epilogue at the end, and it's really short but it's also really cool to see what happened a year or two later. And honestly, it was really cute!
