The book I read was Home Of The Brave by Katherine
Applegate. Katherine started writing books back in 1994. Her first book
was about love and relationships, if i compare it to Home Of The Brave it's
kinda similar because Kek (main character in Home Of The Brave) loves the cow
and in the first book she wrote this one guy was in love with a women. Her
books are basically about animals and relationships. One of katherine’s
series are Animorphs which is people who transform into different type of
animal based on the boy or girl. I’m not sure how they are able to transform
but i’ll have to figure out by reading her series. This book was good, it is
really easy to read out to kids or brother/sisters friends and family. This
book is really to understand the storyline and it have some interesting parts
in the book. You will have to read to figure out!
The story is about a guy from Africa came here to the United
State Of America and settle here. He lived with his mother but when they came
here, they got separated. His father and brother didn’t survived. There
was a war going on at Sudan back then. Only Kek and his mother survived the
war, his cousin is already in the United States Of America and Kek’s aunt.
I like this book because it is a simple book and really easy
to read. Each page should be like around 5-7 sentences only. I recommend
this book to 7th graders through 12th graders. This book is really easy to read
and understand this book. I finish this book under 10 seconds, that's how
simple the book is. It is a chapter book with short sentences but a lot
of pages. The book might be written for the African kids to show how they live
in the U.S. All readers should read this book because it is explaining how
African kids are settling here in U.S. How hard their trip was and how hard it
is to live here. I’m not saying that you guys should read this book but I
really think you should save your time and read this amazing book by Katherine
Applegate. Also read her other series too, the book is called Animorphs.
If I were to rate it a 10 stars, I’ll put a 10 out of 10
because this book it so amazing! Like I said before it is a simple book to read
and anybody could read this book, but I’ll recommend it to people who are
interested in how people live and how they got here. All readers would like
this book because it was so interesting. I don’t really read books but this
book makes me like reading! So when you guys have the time, stop by a library
and see if they have this awesome book! Home Of The Brave by Katherine
Applegate.
One of my favorite line in the book is “A cow is a god with a
wet nose.” I like it because it funny. Like how is a cow a god? I know the
cow’s nose is wet but still how is a cow a god? If you want to figure out why
or the reason the cow is like a god, you should go and read this book right
now!
