Homeboyz

My book is Homeboyz by Alan Lawrence Sitomer he has made a couple different books about people lives and how they are treated differently. Homeboyz is about a kid trying to give revenge to a gang because they killed his sister.

It's about Teddy he is trying to give revenge because of his sisters drive by. The characters are Teddy, Tina, Mrs.Anderson, Pops, Micah, and Officer Diaz. Teddy got caught trying to give revenge and got arrested then he went to court they just made do probation hours with Officer Diaz and he met Micah there so Micah found out about Teddy’s problem so he got jumped to join a gang just for Teddy and that's when Teddy found out it was not the gang he tried giving revenge to. So he found out who it was and he told the guy they have a mission so he took him far away and put a gun on his head but then he ended up not killing him and took him home and the guy saw his wife dead and put a gun on Teddy’s head but then the guy said never mind I want to die with my pregnant wife and later Teddy fought the gang leader because he was the one who sent him.

I like this book a lot and recommend it because it was really good it was about what gang violence did to his family.

Slam!

Slam!

He also wrote, Monster, bad boy, fallen angles and many more. 

I really liked the book slam because I can relate to him in somethings and we really have a connection. I think slam was written for anyone who has really big challenges that are hard to overcome but in conclusion, I think all readers would like this because it's always good when you see someone bounce back off hard challenges in their life just like the book slam. I really think this book is probably one of the best young adult novel written by one of the best authors and I think you should really rea this book.

Elephants on Acid and Other Bizarre Experiments

The book I readied was called Elephant on acid and other bizarre experiments by Alex Boese. It about conducting a bit bizarre experiments but helps to know about them. For example will a average dog get help for an emergency or what happens when elephants are given LSD? Something you read in your free time.

Gutless

My book Gutless by Carl Deuker he has made plenty of books that people have enjoyed like gym candy, heart of a champion, night hoops, & many more. They all are similar because there sports books & the main character has a hard high school then has a talent that makes people that were being mean to then like there because he had talent. This book shows teens that high school is not easy & if you have a friend that being bullied help out & speak up.

The soccer, the varsity wide receiver (Brock) & his weird friend (Richie)that everybody bullies that is smart can play soccer, chest etc that excels at everything. Conflict that Brock & Richie was having was starting quarterback Hunter Gates was bullying Richie because of the way he acted “ when I got to school to school one day I seen posters people made Richie because he was so good at soccer & hunter gates colored on it with bad words when I asked everyone where was Richie everyone said he left & for days Richie was no where to be found until he seen him in class & Richie acted like nothing happened “.

I like this this book because it showed bravery & how to stick up to a friend & sports which I love. I think teenagers that have friends that are being bullied showed read this or if teenagers love sports & intense reading then this is the best book. Carl Deuker has plenty of books people should read this is my first & not gonna be my last.

My Sister Rosa

This book is a very good and interesting book, and young girl named rose and her brother both move to an unfamiliar place rose has a bad habit of getting into trouble and her older brother tries to keep her in line.

Throughout the book they come across various problems and usually they are roses fault.

This book is one of the best I have read and would recommend it to anyone who loves books about how the human brain works

Game

Game is a book written by Walter Dean Myers. The genre of books Myers writes are mostly young adult novels, nonfiction and poetry. Other books that he has written are Monster, Hoops!, Fallen Angels and Scorpion. All of his books seem to be very relatable to real life situations.

The book Game is about a boy named Drew that plays basketball in high school, but when two players that aren't the same color as the rest of the team get more attention than him he feels that his spot on the team is at risk. Drew parents have always worried that he would be like all the other guys his color in Harlem, so when these players came to his team he got less minutes which made him angry and this brought drama to the story.

I liked the book because it was about basketball and he brought up a lot of topics that I could relate to. If you don't care for sports and nonfiction then I don't think this is the book for you but I do think that you should check out one of Walter Dean Myers other books. I think that you should read this book because it might relate to something you've went through and it never gets boring because there is a lot of action in this book that certain readers might like.

Ghost

The book I read this trimester was Ghost by Jason Reynolds. One of the other books that he has is All American Boy. I read that book also it was a good book too. Ghost and All American Boy or kinda different but the same. They both have a young boy that have troubles in their life. But in All American Boy there are two different authors. Ghost is basically about a troubled boy going to a new school and getting bullied. The theme of my story is a kid running from his problems and life.

An example from the story is. The first day Ghost started school it was not that good. When he was in class trying to make friends and stuff. This girl says something about his shoes and Ghost is very upset because the whole class starts laughing. But he doesn't let that stop him he tries to keep making friends. That same day he tells his mom about what happened and she cheers him up by saying. “Nobody cause judge my beautiful boy”. Then this is when it gets bad about 3 or 2 weeks after that he made a lot of friends. But then this boy named Benjamin Simmons starts messing with him but this time he couldn't control his angry. And they fight, so they take something from Ghost that he cares for the most track and Ghost is very angry. You have to read it to find out what happens next.

I really liked Ghost it has a lot of action and conflicts and that's what I look at in books.

This book is written for people who are inspiring bullying and love to run track. You should pick up Ghost the 2nd paragraph wasn't even the most exciting part. Hope you will go read cause I give it a 5 star.
