A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven

I recently finished reading, A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Heaven… (Or, How
I Made Peace With the Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process) by
Corey Taylor. Corey Taylor has written one other book titled, Seven Deadly Sins. Both of these
books are mad up of memoirs from Taylor’s past, as well as his opinions and outlooks on life. A
Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Heaven… (Or, How I Made Peace With the Paranormal
and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process), is about Taylor’s encounters with the
paranormal throughout his life. Corey Taylor describes his experiences and how he made sense
out of other-worldly activity. I was unable to find a single theme that was constant throughout
this book, since Taylor uses each chapter and each one of his stories to bring across a different
point, but I did find that the themes of all of the chapters were closely relate in that they were all
meant to open the reader’s eyes to the paranormal, and to make sense of ghostly encounters.

A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Heaven… (Or, How I Made Peace With the
Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process), takes the reader through the
mind of Corey Taylor, a grammy winning musician, and his thoughts and experiences with
paranormal activity. Corey writes about his adventures, hunting ghosts and sometimes running
into them by mistake, with his childhood friends, band-mates, his wife, and his lifelong
companions. Throughout the book, Taylor explains his reasoning for why he believes in ghosts,
scientifically, and philosophically.

I would definitely recommend this book to others. I would recommend this book because
it is very insightful, and is also mind-opening to the paranormal and unexplained occurrences in
our strange world. I think people who are interested in ghosts would especially enjoy this book,
and so would fans of Corey Taylor’s music. I think everyone should pick up this book and read it
as soon as possible. I enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading Taylor’s other book.

  1. This book seems interesting to me because it is about things that are paranormal. I think that paranormal things are interesting because there are so many things to fall into that category and I think learning about them is fun and choosing whether or not I believe that paranormal stuff is real. The fact that you couldn't find a single theme throughout the story intrigues me because that usually isn't the situation. This reminds me of the show Supernatural because this book and the show are both about people who have many occasions hunting and encountering paranormal things. I enjoy stories about ghosts and whatnot because they are suspenseful and make me think about what I would do in certain situations.

  2. By reading the summary of this book, I am interested in reading it. What intrigues me about the book is that it is based on paranormal activity which makes it interesting since it involves experiences from the "other world". It is informing to read about topics like these because it lets you grow your knowledge about paranormal occurrences which doesn't happen to someone quite often. This text reminds me a bit about the ghost books where they tell about myths and things related to that because it falls into the same category of 'scary' suspense. I have enjoyed reading the other books that relate to this book because they are intriguing and suspenseful.

  3. This book seems pretty interesting to me because it talks about things that are paranormal and it includes experiences from the "other world" which I think would be interesting to read about and be informed about. This book reminds me of a lot of scary movies because in scary movies there is a lot of "paranormal" stuff that happens. I think this book would be different then a lot of stuff I have read because I don't really read books that talk about paranormal activity but it would good to read a book that is a little different from what I normally read.

This is a story that, though I have yet to read already intrigues me because I have had abstention with the idea of the paranormal world & always tried find more, this book brings out a side I never thought of. it brings great humor into a subject in which most people try to make really creepy.

Holy Moley where can I get this book! I have always been interested in the paranormal and oddities of the world and this book sounds like it's right up my alley. It sounds like the writing would be funny and it seems like a good-weird book. This book kinda reminds me of another book "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, both books are based around a famous person going around a hunting the paranormal (or finding it accidentally). I will definitely read this book over the summer and see if my assumptions are right about it .

  7. This book seems interesting to me, and I think I would enjoy reading it. This books seems interesting because it's paranormal based, and whether I choose to believe in that or not, it's still interesting to read. It's fun to read a story, and while reading it, put yourself into the shoes of the person encountering the situation. This seems like a mystery book, full of short stories, which is good to keep a reader involved in the book. As the reader, you keep reading on to figure out what happens next, will it actually be paranormal activity, or is it just him/her overreacting a small situation? These are both questions that make the reader want to continue reading. This reminds me of the show "American Horror Story" because they both incorporate some sort of paranormal activity. The show gives people the same suspense of "What will happen next?", which is why I think I would enjoy reading this book, because it would keep me interested.
